Although time hasn’t been on my side lately, I know 2012 is going to be a good year. There have been lots of exciting things that have recently happened, so let me update you all!
I now have 2 wonderful stockists that I love love love. One selling some of my accessories, Asrai Garden in Wicker Park (Chicago), currently stocked with my pom pom pins, lace bow necklace and leather bow pins, and another store selling a select range of my clothing, Emerging Thoughts (online).
My Facebook page is now live and kicking. You should check it out for news and updates and there will also be some exclusive giveaways in the future too so make sure you ‘like it’ to stay updated.
I have lots of ideas and exciting things planned for 2012, but for now you will have to wait and see ;). Hope you have all had a great start to the year too!
A very lucky lady would have received “the best gift ever” (which was the title on my check) from her lovely fiance by now. He bought my “Bonjour!” crochet french telephone for her for Christmas, as he knew how much she had loved it after seeing it at one of the shows I had displayed the phone at.
My favorite memories of the “Bonjour!” were at the couple of shows that I displayed it at. Just seeing people’s reaction to it – mostly gasping and gawking once it had caught someones eye which was followed immediately by them grabbing the person they were with, and asking if I had made it myself – was very rewarding. There was even one time that a kid had screamed “Oh my God!!!” from the other side of the street whilst pointing and running excitedly into my booth. That kid has good eyes! I don’t even know how he saw it from that far away.
Although sad to see it go, I am SO happy at the same time that my phone now lives with a wonderful lady that adores and appreciates the 3 months of testing and intricate crocheting and knitting that went into the making of this.
I will be selling at a one day pop-up shop tomorrow at the Chicago Artists’ Coalition Gallery. Come and stop by for some free food, drinks and for the ladies there will be hair & makeup treatments. There’s lots of fun (and shopping) to be had!
Here’s a sneak peek of some of the other independent artists, and also a really great shop Emerging Thoughts, that will be selling there tomorrow:

I was in Portland a few months ago and found out about Lodekka from a friend. I knew immediately that I had to go and check it out even though I had a really limited time on my trip – and let me tell you, it was worth it! Lodekka is an AMAZING resale vintage clothing store that is housed in a 1965 double decker bus from England. The bus is filled with lots of vintage treats (of the clothing and accessories sort) for men and women alike.
Erin Sutherland, the owner of Lodekka, is a really wonderful lady. She has a great eye for vintage clothing and her picks for the shop are really on point. If running an awesome store is not enough to convince you that she is totally rad, she is also in a great band, The Stolen Sweets!
Here are some photos of the store (that my lovely boyfriend took):
Lodekka has recently relocated and has joined forces with Wanderlust, another cute resale shop on wheels. Nestled in a small parking lot between Pix Patisserie and Hopworks’ newest bar-topian installment, Bike Bar, the shops provide a unique shopping experience for patrons of Portland’s most up-and-coming retail and food destination.
Lodekka & Wanderlust are hosting a joint event for the grand re-opening of their new location on Friday, December 2 from 4pm – 9pm. Customers will enjoy 20% off on items in both stores, special holiday gift certificate packages and a screening of “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
If you’re in (or going to be in) Portland on December 2, you should definitely stop by their space! Details of the new location is mentioned on the below flyer:
It’s that time of the year again and Christmas is fast approaching. Get your Christmas shopping done in one spot whilst supporting great independent artists, including me!
I’ll be selling sweatshirts with cute lace and pocket detailing, leopard fur and sherpa Peter Pan collars, leather bow belts, brooches, fold up bags and more. Come and say hi to myself and my lovely booth mate Emily from Soapily Ever After.
The holiday craft fair will be held on December 3 & 4, 2011 (Sat & Sun), 11am – 6pm. That’s only 2 and a half weeks away. Mark your calendars ^__^.

There are some pretty creative people at work, and it shows with our Halloween costumes. ‘Like’ your favorite Threadless Halloween costume here (you have to ‘Like’ Threadless first). And if you like my costume ‘Like’ my picture!
I wanted to be the Morton Salt Girl again, but then that would be cheating right?
I have been in hiding for the past month being super busy with moving apartments, a visit from my parents, and overall craziness at work. Now that my life has gone back into normal mode I’ll have a little more time to get back to blogging, yay!
So my parents came from Sydney to come and visit me on the last leg of their world trip for this year. They went on a safari in South Africa, passed by Dublin and London, and then stopped by here – Chicago. I was pretty excited since the last time I saw them was on my last brief visit to Sydney, 8 months ago. We hit up all of the tourist spots in Chicago whilst they were here, and my favorite by far was the architectural tour on the river. Here are a few snaps taken from the boat:
